Youth In The Community have been commissioned by the Big Lottery Fund to run a program to provide mentoring support for local young people.

The project is called the Luton Mentoring Project and is aimed at young people aged between 14 – 24. The project aims to tackle the increasing situations of our young people facing challenges that cause them to be threatened with social exclusion.

We will be working with the young people in the following areas:

·         Guiding them back into mainstream education

·         Providing them with positive role models to instil values underpinning their community’s worth

·         Career advice & guidance, opening them up to a world of opportunities

·         Introducing them to employment contacts through the HiCrEc Network

This mentoring support will be run from the UK Centre for Carnival Arts in central Luton, Bedfordshire on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2pm.

Working with SABA, the project will co-ordinate a Networking and Careers Exhibtion

Providing Mentoring Support To Young People. This will be on Saturday 27th September at the Carnival Arts Centre from 2pm and will also tie into the annual HiCrEc Awards later on that evening.
