The UK UNSIGNED Competition

UK UNSIGNED is organised by SABA, a UK registered performing arts training and media charity. Over the past 12 years we have become the biggest producer of showcases and talent development in the UK. Our aim is to develop unsigned UK based performers, giving them a chance to showcase their skills to the industry.

Since 1999 we have grown from a single showcase to touring over 100 shows annually across the country each year. UK UNSIGNED performances take place in all kinds of venues from pubs, community centres and local theatres, through to clubs, major concert venues and Festivals. Along with our training division which delivers accredited courses in various areas (see www.ukunsignededucation.org), we are now officially the UK’s biggest independent talent quest.

Our mission statement is to Discover – Showcase – Develop. This means we discover new talent from the poorest housing estate, through to the unsigned act from millionaire’s row. Through our network of showcases and digital broadcasts, we provide new acts with numerous opportunities to showcase their skills. Then, through our network of industry experts we provide routes through which they can Develop to be all they can be.

Past UK UNSIGNED successes include Leona Lewis, Katie Melua, N-Dubz, and the Flawless Dance Group. Along with these most recognisable names, there have been others who have been able to fulfil their aspirations at different levels from starting with us. These include Natalie Chua, who was part of the platinum selling group Angelis, and FDM 03 who were signed to Neyo’s Universal label.

To register to take part in UK UNSIGNED just follow the entry form instructions under the UK UNSIGNED & Membership tab on this web site menu. The registration fee is £10 per solo act and £15 per group. There will be heats throughout the year with the finals taking place in October.
